Whether your beloved canine companion suffers from yeast infections, skin issues, arthritis or hip dysplasia it is time to take a look at the facts regarding dog enzymes. By way of ensuring your canine’s health, longevity and happiness, this may be one of the vital essential articles you read.

Have you recently added a new puppy to your family? If so, you might be stuck for ideas when it comes to building a solid relationship with him. Even if your dog isn’t a new addition, you may sense that your owner/pet relationship could use a bit of tweaking. We’re going to talk about a few tips you can exercise with your fuzzy pal that will help you to generate a trusting and loyal bond.

The first thing you need to understand is that all dogs want to be a part of a pack. It’s a natural way of life for them in the wild and it still holds very constant today—only the pack is your family (or you and the dog if you’re a duo). Dogs want to feel as though they serve a place in the pack, which means hanging out with the family and being included in everyday activities. However, it is very important that your dog understands his position in the pack. If you do not assert your authority as the “leader of the pack,” your dog is likely to assume the role, which can result in very hard-to-handle behaviour. When your dog is clear on the hierarchy of the family, he will respect you, which is a huge part of forming a solid foundation in your relationship. I know this all sounds primitive and even a little cheesy, but it’s very much true!

As I mentioned before, it’s important that you include your dog in everyday activities. Trust is probably the single most important factor in having a good relationship with your dog, so try to make sure that your actions don’t imply any untrustworthiness on your part. Routines are a good way of showing your dog that you’re dependable, as long as you stick to them. Little things like taking your dog out to potty and feeding him around the same time everyday are ways that will help your dog to naturally trust in you. Imagine if you relied upon someone for your food/water and bathroom privileges; if you aren’t given these necessities on a regular and dependable basis, you would never grow to trust your supporter.

Activities are a great way to let your dog feel he is involved in the family. Dogs are naturally playful and sociable, so including them in everyday activities such as chores or playing in the back yard are important. You could also take the time to brush your dog or walk with him every day. Training is an excellent way to bond with your dog as praise and (gentle) correction lets him feel involved. I recommend that you get a set of dog steps and train your dog to use them. Whether he’s a puppy or not, it’s better for his joints than jumping to and from furniture and that added training time will only serve to rekindle your dog’s trust and obedience in you.

It is almost impossible to turn on the TV and not see some happy pet wiggling the tail or purring after a delicious meal. And the commercial further encourages us to trust the brand and feed our four-legged friends and make them just as happy as their famous kin! Pet food is certainly an issue if we think of quality, because it is made of dry blood, ground bones and a whole range of additives and chemicals that make it tasty but not healthy. A recent tendency is to use organic pet food as a substitute, and a much healthier variant, so that the animal may truly benefit from good nutrients.

You can order organic pet food on the Internet, or purchase it online. Veterinarians speak in favor of such products because they are balanced thanks to the absence of artificial compounds. Just like in the case of humans, animals get fat or come to suffer from various diseases, as their systems get intoxicated with all the chemical substances added to food for great taste and prolonged freshness. Pets that are not fed on organic pet food grow old at a much quicker pace, they lack vitality and prove more exposed to viruses.

Vomiting, bloating and diarrhea represent the main issues of a digestive acute or chronic ailment that can be traced back to the consume of regular pet food. The metabolism can improve in time if organic pet food becomes the basis for the animal’s daily meals. Improvements have also been registered with the immune functions of pets fed on organic food, because the higher quantity of nutrients thus available, allows the body to create and support the defensive barrier constantly, with low chances of getting exposed to viruses and bacteria. This means that the pet will be happier and healthier, with more vitality than ever.

You can find organic pet food not only for cats and dogs, but also for parrots, tortoises, fish and canaries. Plus, for dogs and cats, you’ll see that food is provided for age groups. Thus, for young animals, the amount of nutrients needs to be larger and in formulas that correspond to the body demands during the intense growth period. Fresh or dry food is both available, but you need to pay attention to the packaging so that the food may be preserved in optimal conditions.

———————————–

Does Spot seem to be sporting quite a belly these days? As a dog owner, it can be very easy not to realize a decline in your pet’s health until the damage is already done. Obesity is a very becoming a very real concern for pets and it’s up to us pet owners to do something about it. This article is going to discuss a few tips for recognizing obesity in your dog and how you can help get him back into shape.

You must realize that all dogs require exercise. Whether you have a Pomeranian or a Great Dane, every breed and size of dog must maintain certain levels of activity on a daily basis. Think about your dog’s average day from beginning to finish. If you can’t bring it to mind, keep an eye on him for a few days and write down his usual activities. For my dog, I drew a time line of his average day. In my timeline I wrote down when he woke up, his meal times, his usual trips outside, nap times, etc. This really helps to put into perspective whether your dog is truly lacking exercise or if a change of diet is required.

One important thing to consider is this: does your dog get to spend regular time outdoors aside from potty breaks? If not, this could be a huge clue as to why your dog might not be looking as lean as he ought to be. Dogs love to be outside—it’s natural for them and it’s a good inspiration to be active. If you haven’t been able to take your dog outside in the past, set time aside for him or arrange for a friend or family member to do let him out several times throughout the day. Try to get involved with him when he’s outdoors to encourage him to move around. Throwing his favourite ball or toy around is great, as is a quick jog around the yard. If you aren’t in the best of shape yourself, you and your dog could go to a dog park or on walking trails and both of you can reap the health benefits of walking. This is also great for strengthening the relationship between you and your dog. You can even try getting a set of pet steps to train your dog on. Not only will he get a great workout from going up and down the steps, but being proactive will boost his happiness and confidence.

After you have made your assessment of your dog’s activity level, you might be surprised to find that he gets sufficient exercise but still doesn’t seem to be as lean as he should be. This is a very common scenario among people who feed their dog table scraps or gets a bit too liberal with the doggy treats. Regardless of the fact that human food is a lot more fattening to dogs, it’s also down-right unhealthy for them. A dog’s diet should consist primarily of meat, raw vegetables, and certain types of grain. Could you imagine a dog in the wild snarfing down some spaghetti? If you are guilty of feeding your dog human food—as most of us are—try to cut back on that altogether. If you don’t notice a difference in your dog’s weight, switching to a name brand kibble specifically designed for overweight dogs may be the right solution.

Any time you feel that there could be something amiss with your dog’s health, it’s always best to make an appointment with your dog’s vet to rule out the possibility of an underlying health condition.

If you have a new dog, you might be wondering which pet bed is best. Beds are available in a lot of different sizes, types, styles, fabrics, and the list goes on. Below are several options to think about. These types of beds are even designed in large dog beds.

Orthopedic Dog Beds
These beds are ideal for dogs that have specific health problems such as hip dysplasia, joint trouble or muscle problems. Just like people beds, they are ordinarily made from Swedish foam that molds to the dog’s shape. For people, these beds give just the appropriate amount of support without putting tension on an already sore and aching body. These beds usually come with a guarantee for quality and durability. Slim dogs, such as Greyhounds, can use these beds to stop joint problems on firm beds or floors.

Raised Dog Beds
There is a entirely new subsection of beds that are raised from the ground. In hot climates, the raised bed helps cooling air to move underneath keeping your dog extra comfortable. In cold climates, it raises your pet from a winter cooled ground. Beds that are raised adequately keep your pet out of the reach of most insects, most importantly, fleas, spiders, and earwigs.

Raised dog beds come in a range of models and materials. You can get beds that appear similar to standard furniture and have them match your decoration. The only influential factor is what you desire your bed to accomplish. The raised beds are not recommended for pets with minor or critical health problems.

Heated Dog Beds
A lot of the time, dogs get cold even if they have fur. If you have your dog sleeping on a balcony, in the garage, or outside, you may want to consider a heated bed. Just like an electric blanket, they plug into the wall and keep your dog warm and snug. These will in addition help out if your pet is recovering from an injury or if he is older and wants added assistance to relax his muscles. Now you do not have to worry about your outdoor dogs being cold at bedtime.

Crate Pads
You can make crates more snug by putting a soft crate pad inside the crate. Many crates are just wire or plastic, and you wouldn’t want to lay on that. Neither does your pet. Crate pads are made to fit inside a crate and are frequently made from easily washable material. Your dog’s crate shouldn’t be like a prison dwelling. It should be a space for rest and relaxation. If you use your crate as your dog’s escape, a bed makes it a comfortable place to hide out.

Travel Beds
If you travel a great deal and you do not want to haul along your dog’s regular bed, this is your way out. A travel bed is comparable in many ways to the bed you have at home, but it is made to collapse or fold up easily. Just how children need there pacifiers or blankets, pets want there dog beds for a since of safety. Let your pet use the dog bed while he is at home so that he become familiar with the bed. When you get to your destination every night, your pet doesn’t feel tense by a new sleeping situation.

Let me tell you a story about urinary incontinence in dogs. Jane Smith’s beloved old pet has suddenly started dribbling urine.Urine puddles are showing up all over the house. The fur on her dog’s bottom is wet from the constant dribbling, and the odor is overwhelming. She fears the worst, thinking that there is no cure for urinary incontinence in dogs. She’s afraid that her beloved friend can’t be helped.

Why Is My Older Dog Incontinent?

There are many causes for this condition.Old dog incontinence is usually caused by either a bladder infection or a weak bladder sphincter.

Bladder infections in dogs are a leading cause of old dog incontinence, especially in females. Your vet may want to do a urine culture to make sure it’s an infection and determine what’s causing it. Most urinary tract infections in dogs are cause by E. coli or staph, although sometimes they can be caused by a yeast infection.

A weak bladder sphincter is common in large female dogs that have been spayed and in older male dogs. The muscles in the sphincter relax, either due to hormone imbalance or advancing age.

How Does Your Vet Treat Urinary Incontinence In Dogs?

Bladder infections in dogs are normally treated with antibiotics. Your dog will usually show an improvement within a few days, although it’s important to finish the entire course of antibiotics. If your dog was incontinent due to a bladder infection, the problem should go away quickly.

A weak bladder sphincter may be treated with hormone therapy. Females receive DES (diethylstilbestrol), while males are treated with testosterone. Your vet may want to try a drug that acts on the nerves in the muscles of the sphincter to help it close better. This drug can be used in combination with hormone therapy too.

Natural Remedies And Incontinent Dogs

The treatments your vet has are very effective, but side effects are always a possibility.Antibiotics wipe out all the bacteria in the body, both beneficial and harmful. What this means is that your dog could develop another bladder infection as soon as the antibiotics are finished.

Hormone treatments are ongoing and can be expensive, while the medication used for the sphincter nerves can cause irritability, appetite suppression, and blood pressure changes.

Prescription drugs treat the symptoms, but don’t address the causes of the problem.

What Happened To Jane’s Dog?

Jane took her dog to the vet for a check-up and found that a weak bladder sphincter was causing the problem. Jane started out giving her dog hormone treatments, along with the prescription medication mentioned above. However, the therapy was expensive, and she was very worried about side effects on her old friend.

Jane started researching herbal and homeopathic remedies for bladder problems in dogs. She learned that herbal and homeopathic remedies for urinary problems work just as well on pets as they do on people. Jane decided to try a natural remedy, and found that it was safe and effective, with no worries about side effects.

Are you struggling with the problem of old dog incontinence? What’s stopping you from trying a natural remedy for your dog with bladder problems?
You have no way of knowing if your pet is depressed.Sometimes it’s hard to tell when your pet is in pain.I had a difficult time with my pet after my husband died.Three years after I retired from work, my husband passed away.He was the busy one.He has formed a strong bond with our dog; they’d go anywhere together.I’m a homebody.I’d stay at home all the time if time allows me to.Our dog loved the outdoors. Canine Depression

After my husband died I knew there would be an adjustment period for my dog to get used not having his buddy around.Next to riding a car, this was his favorite activity.I began to notice that something wasn’t right.Six months later I sold my house and moved into a senior living facility with my dog.I thought that my dog had adjusted well. After I moved in, I adjusted quickly.Comparing my previous lifestyle and life at the home, the latter was a lot laid back.I began to get closer to my sweet pet.He had adjusted to the loss of my husband by sleeping a lot more, so it was good for me who likes to read and needlepoint. But I noticed that he wouldn’t bark at the gardeners every time.He was always like this. Pet Pain Relief

I checked out the internet for vets in the area and found one not too far away.According to the vet, my dog is suffering from depression and animal arthritis. My dog was having difficulty with the medication. The side effects of the medication has taken over him.I looked for another veterinarian because the medication for depression didn’t just work.I wasn’t sure if the pain from the animal arthritis caused the depression or the depression made the pain worse, I needed to look for a vet that can treat both.

I stumbled upon Midwest Microcurrent, a pet facility specializing in treating animal pain and restoring health. The center employs small electrical current to restore the body’s performance and to aid the healing process. My dog seemed to have slept better after the dog cranial electrotherapy stimulation treatment or CES.It seemed that the treatment was working for the depression. They used the microcurrent electrical therapy or MET directly on my dogs hips and this permitted dog pain relief immediately.By leasing the equipment, I’ll be able to do this at home.My dog is in great shape and is now barking at the gardeners.Dog Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation

Learning about dog training should be the first step you take prior to actually training your dog. Certainly there are plenty of sources one can access, but at times it just results in information overload.

Canine training isn’t really all that difficult. An important thing to remember is that almost all dogs simply want to make their owner happy. The problem is communication. Of course there is a language barrier, and you need to get your pet to understand what you want.

Dog training can be summed up with just a few tips. Lets take a look at some of the things that I have used in order to train my dog, making both he and I happier.

Try to avoid the negatives that often come with training. Hitting or striking your dog, either by hand or with an object will only teach the dog to fear you. A stern verbal NO, is OK, but don’t go any further than that, or you risk alienating the animal. Focusing on praise and rewards when your dog behaves as it should is the better way to go.

Praising your dog of course reinforces the correct behavior. Loving or petting your dog for acting positive behaviors is of course nice, but experience has shown better results happen when treats are distributed at the time the behaviors observed. Think about it, food motivates almost every animal, so to it works with our four legged companions.

Body language can also influence your dog’s reactions. Many canines can actually can actually sense and read your body language before any verbal communication is given. A method that works well in doing this is to match a verbal command with a particular movement of either the hand, arm, or even leg.

Never giving up is the final key to successful dog training. Sure at times it is frustrating. It would certainly be easier to give up, go sit on the couch and watch your DirecTV, but you need to persist in your training. Your dog is not going to train himself, and training always takes longer than you would like. It is so important to keep this in mind when things are difficult with your dog. Things will not always fall into place, so do not give up at the first sign of trouble.

Training your dog can be both a difficult and rewarding experience. Keeping these brief tips in mind will help you keep on track in your natural dog training efforts.

If you have ever owned a dog before, you probably know about the joy that a furry pal can bring to your life. The best way that you can repay your pooch for his loyalty and companionship is to ensure that he leads a healthy way of life.

Click to visit Dog Food for Life

There are many factors that can influence the health of your pet, but the single most important one is his doggie diet . Many store-bought dog foods do not provide the highest-quality nutrients; while they will give your dog just what he needs to function, they do not support a healthy lifestyle.

In fact, does your dog show any of the following symptoms: large, smelly stool, gaseous, burps often, sheds constantly, prone to ear and skin infections, lack of energy, or hyperactivity. If these issues seem familiar, your dog is likely not getting enough nutrients from his food.

So, what does a dog need in his diet ? Your dog needs 45 nutrients to function properly. Major groups for these nutrients are protein, carbohydrates, fat, vitamins and minerals, as well as water. These nutrients have to be in the right amounts so that they are properly digested and absorbed by the body.

However, not all brands of dog food provide all of these nutrients. Even expensive, premium commercial dog foods often contain ingredients that are simply not good for your dog. For example, the first ingredient in a dog food may be meat, but what kind of meat is it? If the species isn’t specified, it could be just about anything: Animals that were dead or dying when they reached the slaughterhouse. Animals that were diseased. Cancerous tumors. In some cases, plants that supply pet food companies use road-kill and dead pets from animal shelters and veterinarians’ offices. You can read more about this by checking out the Confidential Dog Food Report.

The best thing you can do for your dog is to start reading dog food labels and take the time to find out which brands offer the most health benefits. Your dog depends upon you to give him the nourishment he needs; if you fail to provide that, you could be shortening his lifespan or putting a limit to his quality of life.

First, we’re going to talk about the importance of exercise. All dogs, no matter what breed, need a certain amount of exercise to be in optimum health. A common excuse among pet owners is the lack of time for exercise. What most of these people fail to see is that adequate exercise doesn’t have to be time consuming. Step into the backyard or visit a park for twenty minutes so you can toss your dog’s favorite toy around.

Let him fetch it and gain the exercise he needs while you don’t exhaust yourself. If you aren’t pressed for time, consider taking your dog on a nice walk in the mornings or evenings. This is a great way to wake up or wind down, depending on the time of day you walk, plus it shows your willingness to spend special time with your dog, which is terrific!

Companionship needs

One aspect of caring for a dog that a great deal of pet owners take for granted is that of the emotional sort. Dogs require a great deal of companionship, but they also need someone to take control or they will.

Spoiling a dog can be nearly as harmful as neglecting him, so it s important that you find a balance between the two. Set aside special time when you and your pet can chill out or play around. Let him know that you value him as a member of the family, but correct him if he becomes too demanding of you or another family member. Remember that dogs naturally move in packs, which is what your family resembles. If you do not establish yourself as the leader of the pack, the dog will attempt to. This is usually a concern among puppy owners.

Feeding

How and what you feed your dog has a big effect on your pet’s health and over-all behavior. There are so many commercially available dog foods to choose from that making the right decision can be somewhat impossible. For a change, look beyond the labels and advertisements and look into what exactly your dog food contains.

The five main items that need to be in your dog’s food are: protein, carbs, polyunsaturated and saturated fats, and vitamins and minerals. If the dog food label doesn’t list a source for these (ie: source of protein should be listed as beef, chicken, lamb, etc.), then the source probably isn’t very healthy.

You may want to include, for best nutrition a range of pet herbs and vitamin supplements to complement the dog food to ensure optimal health and to reduce the risk of dog health conditions deteriorating over time

Try to make these minor adjustments to your dog’s life. It really doesn t take a great deal of time on your part and your dog will lead a much happier and healthier life.
